TOUR - South Lake Union/Cascade Tour: Living with Cranes

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

The tour will start at the REI Flagship store (on the corner of Yale Ave and John St).
This tour explores the architectural and urban design elements that contribute to a lively and livable Cascade/South Lake Union neighborhood, from “big picture” city contributions down to individual developer design decisions. With a focus on the neighborhood’s residential architecture, green spaces serving as community spaces, and history as both a mixed-use neighborhood and urban wasteland, this tour delves into the question of what makes an urban neighborhood thrive. We'll observe current construction projects, long-standing and historic structures, and the overall transformation of this ever changing neighborhood!

This tour involves moderate walking with minor hills/stairs and some maneuvering due to construction.  This cost of the tour is normally $15, but to make it accessible to all, a special FREE Design Festival Pass is available for this date.  Limited free tickets available, so please register in advance.
